The Shirt Says It All

Slippery Fish

Haley has graduated from the tub seat and now takes 'big girl' baths. For months I've lamented about the lack of splashing in the tub. I regret saying that. Haley can and loves to splash - she's soaked me, the dogs and the bathroom walls. We can't wait to take her to the pool this summer, she's a water loving baby!

p.s. Our tub is quite clean and doesn't have a yellow tinge to it. Our camera leaves something to be desired.

Breakfast For Dinner

I had a craving for breakfast for dinner last night, so waffles were made. Haley enjoyed her first waffle and an egg yolk veggie omelet (it looked and smelled tasty!). She LOVED the waffle...fistfulls in the mouth at a time, syrup in the hair. Unlike her daddy, she clearly loves breakfast foods. Yum!

What's the big deal about waffles? Sounds weird.

Mmmmm, these are good!

More waffles! Faster!

Month 8

April 5, 2009

Dearest Lady Bug,

You turned 8 months old today; how is it possible I didn’t know you 8 months and 1 day ago? You and me, we’re linked for life.

You’ve started clapping this month and it’s absolutely adorable. You clap for everyone, including yourself. You’ve also started to try to talk - the babbling continues, but I’ve heard some mamamamama’s in there too. I’m not sure you know that I’m mama, but I like to think you do.

You continue to be the happiest girl on the block. I love coming into your room in the mornings and seeing your sweet face. You’re still a little sleepy, but happy and smiling (and talking) and ready for the day. I love starting my day with you - you are better than any cup of coffee.

Daddy and I think you’re going to be a rock star or a dancer. You light up when music is on (you currently love Blues and Stevie Wonder) and start to groove, bouncing side to side. Being able to make you dance is your dad’s new favorite pastime.

The weather’s been warmer, so you and I have been going on long walks through our neighborhood. On Saturday, we discovered a ‘secret’ trail that wound back through some old fields - it was an adventure! Every single day with you is an adventure - an adventure in love, patience, and creativity. I hope you keep a sense of adventure throughout your life...find out what your city and your world have to offer. Daddy and I know you’re bound for greatness.

You are the sun, the moon and the stars in my sky.

Love always,
Mama

Happy Easter

We enjoyed a lovely Easter with family. Charlie showed off his awesome new walking skills while Haley grooved along with her singing/dancing duck!

Taking A Stroll

Baby Bjorn/Beluga

Haley loves being in the Bjorn, but is pushing the weight limit to the max (the chunky thighs are getting squeezed!). I wanted to photograph one of our last times in the Bjorn before officially retiring it. Karl and Haley suit up on Saturday mornings and vacuum the house together. Haley's happy squeals could be heard throughout the house. She's her father's daughter, already loving the vacuum.

For Papa Manies

Poor Papa, he's been feeling left out. There are a variety of 'I love Mommy, Daddy, Grandma' items on the market, but fewer for Grandpa. Looky what I found at Target...

It's true! Haley is a daddy's/grandpa's girl through and through! Love you Papa!
