Month 6

February 10, 2010

Dear Haley,

I’ll start with an apology - your letter is late this month. I couldn’t think of what to write you this month; other than I am totally and completely more in love with you this month than last. (But, I feel that way each month, each week, each day, each minute...)

You turned 6 months old on the 5th. You’re getting to be such a big girl - it amazes your daddy and me each and every day. You roll over and sit up and try to stand up. You dance and wiggle and splash in the tub. You babble and laugh and smile. You hug and snuggle and squeal and squeak. You have the ability to make everyone in a room smile and fall in love with you (this could be bad news for your dad and me when you hit teenage years).

I realized something profound this month - with your help, I get to be a kid again too...kind of. A grown up kid, I suppose. We made Valentine cards and pink cookies for your friends at daycare. With each little paper heart I cut out, I thought of my two favorite Valentines - you and your daddy. You two have moved into my heart and built a high-rise, a city, an entire country. My heart belongs to the two of you.

You are the sweetest little girl we ever could have hoped for. You exceed our expectations in every way. We love you and can’t wait to see what the next six months bring us.

You are the sun, the moon and the stars in my sky.

Guess Who's 6 Months Old?

It's Haley!

How did our girl go from this...

to this, already?

Our girl continues to defy us by growing up. Haley celebrated her 6 month birthday with a check-up at the doctor. She's topping the charts at over 18 pounds (80%) and 27 inches (90%). The Bug is a big girl! Even the doctor was amazed by her growth spurt in the last 3 months. Haley took the shots like a champ - just a few tears, but was quickly soothed and laughing at the nurse.
Haley's working very hard on sitting up by herself and rolling over. She loves to eat and play, but her favorite are baths. Here we are post-bath, sporting our very cute giraffe robe. Happy and clean...for a few minutes at least.
